CAGG 2020 Talk and Trip Programme

The CAGG programme of meetings and trips in 2020 is noted below.


2020 Talks 2020 Field Trips
Unless otherwise stated, all talks take place on the third Friday of the month at the Echo Centre, Liskeard at 19:30. All field trips take place on the last Saturday of the month and start at 11:00 am unless stated otherwise.
Friday, 2020-01-17
Understanding Geological Maps, Sections and Columns. Get to make and colour your own map in this hands on exercise.
Friday, 2020-02-21
Geology of the Grand Canyon. Learn about the geology of this famous area and discover why geologists were confused about there being too many rocks.
Friday, 2020-03-20
Rock Forming Minerals. Get hands on with the most abundant minerals on earth and use the element cards to make up versions of them yourself.
Saturday, 2020-01-25
Kit Hill. Meet at the summit car park at 11am. A tour of the hill taking in the amazing features and see if we can map the elvan dykes.
Saturday, 2020-02-29
Camborne School of Mines, 11am. A hands on day. Get to look at, touch and study whatever you prefer with various activities (rocks, minerals, microscopes and more) for you to choose from in our fully equipped geology teaching lab.
Sunday 2020-03-15
Geevor Mine, St Just. A specially organised trip just for CAGG. Please note different day and date to normal.
